Scott Dunnett Death – It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Scott Dunnett on September 12, 2025, at the age of 37. Scott leaves behind his devoted wife, Becky, and their three children, Kenzie, Avery, and Zak. The sudden loss has left family, friends, and the Wilmington community heartbroken.
Scott Dunnett was a man who touched countless lives through his warmth, generosity, and commitment to those around him. Beyond his role as a loving husband and father, he was a dedicated coach and mentor. He devoted much of his time to the local TYSA community, supporting youth athletics and most recently coaching his daughter’s Bantam team. His dedication to nurturing young talent and instilling values of teamwork and sportsmanship made a lasting impact on the athletes and families he worked with.
Friends and community members describe Scott as someone whose presence could light up a room. His kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering support for others left a deep imprint on those who knew him. “Scott was always there for everyone, whether coaching, mentoring, or just lending a listening ear,” shared a close friend. His sudden passing has left a tremendous void in the hearts of all who knew him.
In honor of Scott Dunnett and to show support for his family, TYSA has organized a special tribute tonight, Sunday, September 14th, at 8:45 p.m. A police escort will honor Scott as it passes through the intersection of Wildwood Street and Woburn Street in Wilmington. TYSA athletes and community members are encouraged to wear their jerseys as a mark of respect. Parking will be available at the nearby elementary school to accommodate attendees.
During this difficult time, the Dunnett family requests privacy as they navigate their grief. The community is urged to keep Scott, Becky, and their children in thoughts and prayers. This collective remembrance celebrates not only Scott’s life but also his lasting influence on family, friends, and young athletes in the TYSA program.
Though Scott’s life was cut tragically short, his legacy will endure through the countless people he inspired, coached, and loved. As the Wilmington community mourns, they also come together in love, support, and shared memories of a remarkable man who dedicated his life to family and community.
Scott Dunnett will be remembered not only for his achievements but also for the warmth and guidance he provided to everyone around him—a life that, though brief, made an indelible mark.
