Born on August 22, 1979, in Ackerman, Mississippi, Kimberly was the daughter of Joe Belk and the late Cora Bean. From a young age, she was deeply rooted in family values, which shaped her into the nurturing daughter, sister, mother, and friend she would become. Those who knew Kimberly remember her warmth, her strength in the face of life’s challenges, and her remarkable capacity to extend kindness and compassion to others.
Kimberly’s passing is mourned most deeply by her beloved family. She is survived by her devoted father, Joe Belk, who provided her with unwavering love and guidance throughout her life. She also leaves behind her two children, Decoreaun Harris and N’Kia Belk, who were the center of her world and the source of her greatest pride. As a mother, Kimberly embodied selflessness and dedication, striving to nurture her children with the same love and values she herself carried.
Her family circle also included her adopted mother, Emma Belk, who played a significant role in her life, offering guidance and unconditional love. Kimberly’s bond with her siblings was equally strong. She is remembered by her brothers Calvin Dailey, Aundrell Bean, Joe Bean, LaMarcus Belk, Darrell Belk, and Derrick Belk; and by her sisters Wanda Bean, Diane Reed, Britney Woods, Kierra Belk, and Jasmine Belk. Together, they formed a large and loving family network that supported one another through joys and challenges alike.
A service to honor Kimberly’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Second Baptist Church, with Rev. Joseph Stone Jr. officiating. The service will serve not only as a moment of farewell but also as a celebration of the enduring love and light she brought into the world. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Cemetery, a place where her memory will remain eternally cherished.
Visitation has been scheduled for Friday from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at Century Hairston Funeral Home, which has been entrusted with the arrangements. This time will allow friends, extended family, and community members to gather in remembrance, share stories, and provide comfort to one another.
